Two Harkonnen sisters battle forces that threaten the future of humanity and form the legendary sect that would become known as the Bene Gesserit. Whether exploring the stars, escaping dystopias, or making the world a better place, these women are the epitome of science fiction. Anderson.
A prequel to the original Dune, it tells the story of how Sister Rossak evolved into the Bene Gesserit. The incident using Valya Harkonnen’s voice comes from an event called “Mentats of Dune.” All three books weave together the development of the Sisterhood, the Mentats, the Navigators, and the Suk Doctors. I’ve read and watched a lot of fantasy/sdi-fi in my life, and I think I can immediately recognize a winner, whether it’s The Fifth Element, The Lord of the Rings, Edge of Tomorrow, The Matrix, GOT, or 12 Monkeys.
I’ve seen ALL the classics – too many to mention here. It just grabs you and you have to see more! The plot and characters are engaging, there are pleasant surprises, it feels real…
I agree that some of the smaller actors aren’t that great… and that a swordmaster is unlikely to be that ridiculously young… but overall the series so far has been engaging, watchable, and has plenty of excitement.
The "prophecy" element is subtle, and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
